#6 Grand Teton National Park - Jackson Hole, Wyoming
There is so much to see in this park that the visitor may, at times, find it overwhelming. As a photographer trying to capture the West on film, it is often how I felt. The park is so immense, so tangible and so stunning, one can stand for hours almost paralyzed by the beauty. Other times, you find yourself racing frantically to the next location, knowing that you have more than likely just missed something else really special.
The interesting split rail fencing in this photograph typifies the landscapes throughout the West. Rather than representing a barrier, these fences gently lead me around the bend to another period in time – which is why it was imperative that the fence be a profound part of one of my photographs.
